The importance of Lysine.
Did you know that your current pig feed probably doesn’t meet your young pig’s lysine requirement?

Pig rations are formulated by lysine inclusion, not crude protein concentration. Most all commercial pig feeds contain 0.90 to 1.00% lysine. For finishing pigs this lysine level is adequate, but for young pigs it is deficient. In addition, high-lean pigs require even more lysine. If you’re feeding a future winner, make sure you don’t limit your program with deficient lysine.

Get started off right.
VitaLean contains the highest lysine concentration of any supplement in its category. Lysine is one of the most expensive ingredients in swine feeds and supplements. This is why the level is so often limiting. Young pigs fed a high quality diet, fortified with VitaLean will have a nutritional advantage compared to unsupplemented pigs.

Carnitine and Chromium
The data is conclusive – Carnitine and Chromium improve lean muscle development in high-lean pigs. VitaLean is a concentrated source of both ingredients. You don’t have to assume your supplement provides adequate levels – VitaLean guarantees it right on the label.

Safe for all pigs
VitaLean contains no drugs, has no withdraw period, and is safe for all classes of swine.

One 5-pound pail of VitaLean is sufficient for feeding one pig from 50 to 75 pounds until finish. At only 38 cents per day, VitaLean provides the most advanced, concentrated source of supplemental nutrients. We guarantee that no other supplement will compare!

What does VitaLean contain?
Our exclusive L-Carnitine / Chromium Tripicolinate / Lysine package. L-Carnitine and Chromium work together to improve the efficiency of energy utilization resulting in improved lean muscle development

  • L-CARNITINE is the next-generation in vitamin nutrition. L-Carnitine is involved in fat metabolism where it carries fat into cells (mitochondria) where the fat is broken down into energy. Research has shown supplemental L-Carnitine increases the rate cells burn fat thus, improving the efficiency by which animals utilize fate. Typical results included an increase in Loin muscle area (for bigger, more massive top shape), reduction in backfat (producing leaner pigs), and an increase in gluconeogenic function (increases stamina and recovery time, and reduction in muscle fatigue).

  • CHROMIUM TRIPICOLINATE is an organic form of chromium that's involved in carbohydrate, lipid, protein, and nucleic acid metabolism. Chromium maximizes the delivery of energy through the blood glucose transport system to other parts of the body, thereby maximizing the efficiency of this energy transport system (converting fat to lean). Chromium also has been shown to increase the uptake of amino acids into muscle tissue (making pigs heavier muscled). Research indicates that chromium picolinate, when fed with L-Carnitine, can produce leaner, heavier muscled pigs.

PNT’s exclusive Stress Package Formula
:
  • Plasma and Egg protein - a source of active globulin protein
  • Antioxidant vitamins
  • Organic minerals from Zinpro

Added levels of Lysine, Methionine, Threonine, and Isoleucine.
VitaLean contains over 7% Lysine, an important feature when holding rapidly growing pigs.

Appetein
A patented plasma protein product scientifically recognized to improve appetite and feed intake in growing swine.

Digestive health inclusions

  • PNT’s exclusive blend of Direct-Fed Microbials: friendly bacteria that aid in the support of normal healthy digestive function.

  • FOS (fructooligosaccaride) – supports and maintains the integrity of intestinal surfaces.

Feeding Recommendations
VitaLean should be offered to pigs starting at 50 to 75 lbs and continued to finish. If started prior to 100 lbs, ½ ounce of VitaLean per day can be used throughout the entire feeding program. However, if starting pigs after 100 lbs, feed 1 ounce per day until the end of the feeding program.

How Long will my bucket last?
If fed according to the feeding directions, one bucket of VitaLean will last 160 days (one pig). (5 lb pail = 80 ounces = 160, 1/2 oz feedings)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Is VitaLean approved for use in lambs?
No. VitaLean contains L-Carnitine and Chromium Tripicolinate, neither of which is recognized by AFFCO (American Association of Feed Control Officials) as needed nutrients for lambs. However, VitaLean does not contain drugs and does not have added copper.

What is L-Carnitine and how does it work?
Carnitine is a vitamin-like compound that is essential for the transport of fat into cells. Carnitine is not a drug. It can be found in many common foods, specifically meats. Basically, carnitine is required to transport fuel to cells. Research has shown that supplemental carnitine will result in larger loin muscle area, reduced backfat, and increased stamina.

What is Chromium Tripicolinate and how does it work?
Chromium Tripicolinate is an organic form of tri-valent chromium. Chromium is important for maximizing the body's energy supply through the glucose transport system. By maximizing energy transport the body is better able to convert fat to lean. Chromium has been shown to act synerginistically with carnitine to improve lean muscle growth and development.

Can I mix VitaLean into my feed blend?
We usually recommend that you hand feed VitaLean as a topdressing to your current feed mix. Hand feeding allows you to control the amount offered and is the most economical approach. If you do blend into a complete feed, mix VitaLean at a 1.0% inclusion 20 lb./ton.

What are the key features of VitaLean?
Leanness: VitaLean expands the Carnitine/Chromium technology by providing a more concentrated carnitine blend. More is not always better however... VitaLean's formula allows the feeder to utilize on 1/2 ounce per day, therefore saving overall supplement expense.
Vitality: No other product provides a more complete blend of essential micronutrients, including: Plasma and egg protein -- a concentrated source of active globulin protein; Amino Acids -- Lysine, isoleucine, threonine, and tryptophan -- important to support lean muscle during periods of holding and rapid growth. Remember that lysine is the limiting nutrient for growing pigs. VitaLean contains over 7% lysine (1/2 ounce of VitaLean provides nearly 1000 mg lysine per day.) Enriched source of water and fat soluble vitamins; Organic minerals from Zinpro -- both zinc and methionine; Appetein -- patented plasma protein product proved to increase appetite; Direct-fed microbials -- friendly bacteria that support normal healthy digestive function; FOS (fructoogliosaccharide) -- supports and maintains the integrity of intestinal surfaces.
